Courses
are offered in Certificate IV Dental Assisting in Full-time,
Part-time (Flexible delivery) and Correspondence
courses.
The nationally accredited Dental Assisting certificate IV has been developed
in association with the Australian Dental Association, Dental Assistants
Education Council of Australia and Dental Professionals from all States,
to meet the requirements of National Dental Standards. This is part
of the National Health Training Package (HLT07) introduced in 2007. It
provides a high level of competence in technical skills, patient care,
infection control and knowledge to meet current and future needs of
the Dental Profession. Graduates will be prepared for immediate employment
in Private and Government Dental Institutions.
DNA Kingston Training is a Registered Training Organisation
established in 1999. Who are accredited under the new Australian Quality
Training Framework and funded by the Western Australian Department of
Education and Training.
DNA Kingston Training has endorsed quality training and practices and
as such has proudly won the State Training Excellence Award by the Department
of Education and Training "Small Training Provider of the Year
2002" and finalist 2003, 2004 commendation, 2005 and 2007.
DNA Kingston Training is fully supported and recognised by the Australian
Dental Association (W.A. Branch), Southwest Dental Convocation, the
Regional Dental Auxillary Education Group Inc. and Dental Health Services.
TRAINING COLLEGES
Training is available in South Perth, Belmont, Bunbury,
Mandurah and Geraldton.
Full-time, Part-time and by Correspondence all over W.A. & Australia
(with Flexible delivery provided).
South Perth
• Split level College set alongside the banks of the Swan
River overlooking the Perth City.
• Training College has been established in Southbank Centre, Ground
Floor, 38 Meadowvale Avenue, South
Perth. They are modern, air-conditioned centres containing
Lecture theatre, two fully equipped Dental Clinics and Computer
Technology.
• Work experience is part of the programme (one day
a week) which is arranged by DNA and will be in both the Private and
Government sectors of the Dental Profession.
Belmont
• 2 Storey College set alongside the Swan River and parks
for International Training, established with laboratories, lecture
rooms, student lounge/cafe and computer lab.
Bunbury
• Training College has been established centrally
in Unit 1, 76 Spencer Street, Bunbury. They are modern, air-conditioned
centres containing Lecture theatre, two fully
equipped Dental Clinics and Computer Technology.
• Work experience is part of the programme (one day
a week) which is arranged by DNA and will be in both the Private and
Government sectors of the Dental Profession.
Mandurah
• Training College is located in the
new Endeavour Centre, top floor, Unit 7, Peel Street, Mandurah.
It contains full modern training facilities, air-conditioned, additional
dental clinical training equipment and Computer Technology.
• Work experience is part of the programme (one day a week)
which is arranged by DNA and will be in both the Private and Government
sectors of the Dental Profession.
Geraldton
• Training College located short
distance form the city at Wooree, towards the airport at the Progressive
Training Centre. Fully
air-conditioned with additional dental equipment and
computer area.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING AND RECOGNITION
OF CURRENT COMPETENCIES
Recognition of Prior Learning and Recognition of Current
Competencies provides Students with the opportunity to be recognised
for skills and knowledge they may have attained already in the work
place or through courses or general life skills. Once evidence has been
provided and documented you can then be fast tracked through certain
modules and be rewarded with credit for these modules.
The courses are then be customised to the Students requirements to 'fill
the gaps' in training. Completing a full qualification in Dental Assisting,
Dental Reception, Dental Practice Management, Dental Radiography what
ever the course may be.
• RECOGNITION
OF CURRENT COMPETENCIES AND PRIOR LEARNING
All enrolled Students will have the opportunity to apply for RPL &
RCC. This is a process that recognises your past experience, skills
and knowledge you may have attained through out your working like or
schooling and may reduce the course duration. This enables you to achieve
competencies for the modules in the programme without the formal training
process and assessment.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
• Year 10 level C English, Maths and/or
• Demonstration of the ability to cope with a course
of study at a certificate level corresponding to AQF level IV.
(Demonstration will be based on life experiences,
work experience, personal achievements, Community work [Involvement],
Volunteer work, Experience dealing with the public,
Management or Leadership roles and evidence of any recent school or
post school academic record).

• Letters sent to all applicants regarding outcome of application.
• Successful applicants informed of interview time and further

be completed and returned with enrolment fee and provided with additional
information regarding client services, general course

EXCURSIONS
Numerous excursions are part of the programme: Bus trips to Perth Dental
Health Services, Princess Margaret Hospital, Oral Health Centre of W.A.,
Dental Supply Companies, Dental Laboratories and Universities.
Visits will also include, Edith Cowan University and Laboratories, Pathology
centres, Radiography Centres and Specialist Dental Practices.
Guest lecturers- Dental Surgeons and Specialists are also invited to
present lectures in their particular fields.
A large element of hands on training in our clinical area as well as
work- experience is organised one day a week in Private and Government
Dental Clinics. (Regional areas Students may need to work in surrounding
towns and districts)

Refunds policy
Full refund of tuition fee to students will only be provided who lodge
a formal withdrawal form prior to or within 4 weeks of the commencement

Full refund of tuition fee will be provided should course be cancelled
or maximum number of places have been reached.
