The programme contains a substantial practical element which is driven
by our highly qualified and experienced Dental Technicians to take you
through the practical elements in our own established Laboratories.
In the Dental Laboratory Field, this is where practically, materials and
techniques are applied to assist the Dental Profession to provide patients
/ clients with accurate artificial dental appliances. The Dental Laboratory
Technician is a vital, functional member of a Health Care Team. Without
highly skilled Dental Technicians, the Dental Profession (Dentists) would
not provide a service to the public.
The Diploma of Dental Technology involves a total of 4 Semesters, two
years full-time study, 96 weeks, with term breaks, 3 days a week, minimum
20 hours a week. 8.30 am to 4.00 pm.

Dental Technician in public hospitals, public dental clinic, private
dental surgeries, private dental laboratories / clinics or become self
employed and run your own Dental Laboratory.
Links and options exist between various levels of study. Accredited
pathways exist, enabling students to move between different courses with
in DNA Kingston Training and other educational institutions.
University Pathways and credit recognition have been established with
Edith Cowan University Joondalup and DNA Kingston Training.
After achieving the Diploma in Dental Technology, candidates may
undertake the Advanced Diploma of Dental Prosthetics HLT60407. Opportunities
to study this course vary across Australia. You will be skilled to take
impressions and work directly with the public in fabricating full upper
and lower dentures in your own clinic and laboratory, without the Dentists
involvement.
No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements
apply holistically to this qualification as has been de-regulated in Australia
in 2010.
Recognition of prior learning (RPL) may be given for skills and
knowledge gained through previous studies or other relevant experience.
